Back from Africa

We have just returned from a six week trip to Namibia and South Africa. It feels good being home after driving 11.500km and hardly ever spending two nights at the same place. But still we are almost ready to leave again - this time to Central and South America. I will try to update my blog before leaving again, but time is scarce and the fact, that it's christmas time does not help either.
Anyways, Southern Africa is a great place for photographers! I had a great time photographing spectacular landscapes. Deserts, rainforest, mountains, sea - you name it. But even with all those beautiful sand dunes, canyons and starry nights the majority of my pictures have one motif: WILDLIFE.

Photographing wildlife was completely new to me (apart from the odd fox or bird in South America) and it was great to try something I never did before. Although it took some time before I was able to handle the long lens and the (some) images came out sharp I was never bored or frustrated. Actually I was (and still am) thrilled by early morning game drives and spending hours watching wildlife.
As I said before, time to process pictures is scarce but I will do my best to upload some new images. So please stay tuned for some updates during the next weeks.
